Pharmacology

CB-86 is a synthetic resorcinol-anandamide hybrid, described in 2009 by Brizzi et al. in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. The published measurements report an inhibition constant of 5.6 nM at CB1 and 7.9 nM at CB2, on human receptors expressed in COS cells. The summary of the study reports in vivo antinociceptive activity for the series. No human data have been found, and its documented use is research.

History

Source
Synthetic molecule. No plant source is documented for this compound in the sources consulted. It belongs to the series of resorcinol-anandamide hybrids, designed from the pharmacophoric requirements of THC and anandamide.

Origin (research tool)

No biosynthetic pathway: the molecule is obtained by chemical synthesis. Class of synthesis: an ether of a resorcinol bearing a 2-methyloctan-2-yl group, linked to an N-cyclopropyl amide by a carbon chain.
