Pharmacology

FUB-144, also called FUB-UR-144, is a synthetic cannabinoid of the tetramethylcyclopropanoylindole family, with the systematic name [1-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]indol-3-yl]-(2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropyl)methanone. On recombinant human receptors it binds CB1 with a Ki of 27.2 nM and CB2 with a Ki of 1.19 nM, meaning higher affinity for CB2 (Marusich et al., 2022). It has been studied as a constituent of herbal incense blends known as spice (Hess et al., 2016) and identified in seizures (Al-Matrouk and Orabi, 2025). No human pharmacokinetic or toxicological data are published. In France it is not named in the list of narcotics but falls under a generic clause, the 'Indol-3-yl methanone' definition.

History

Source
Synthetic compound with no plant or animal origin. It was identified in seizures: two samples seized in Kuwait between 2019 and 2023 were identified as FUB-144 by NMR (Al-Matrouk and Orabi, 2025). Hess et al. (2016) studied it among synthetic cannabinoids identified as constituents of spice blends.

Origin (pharmaceutical research → illicit market)

No biosynthetic pathway: synthetic compound of the tetramethylcyclopropanoylindole class.
