Pharmacology

JW 642 (hexafluoroisopropyl carbamate of a piperazine substituted by a 3-phenoxybenzyl group) is a synthetic molecule described as a selective inhibitor of monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL). An IC50 of 74 nM on the recombinant human enzyme is reported in ChEMBL (Korhonen et al., 2014), and the molecule serves as a reference inhibitor in an enzyme assay and as a blocking agent in PET studies in rodents and macaques. The sources consulted publish neither human data nor affinity for CB1 or CB2.
