Pharmacology

FDU-NNE1 is a synthetic indole-3-carboxamide: an indole ring carries a 4-fluorobenzyl group on its nitrogen, and its carboxamide function is linked to a naphthyl group. Uchiyama and colleagues described it in 2015, after finding it in 2014 in illicit products bought in Japan, where it was detected together with FDU-PB-22. The authors named the compound from its two fragments: the indolic carbonyl of FDU-PB-22 and the naphthylamino group of NNEI. No affinity constant for the CB1 or CB2 receptors is published, and no data on its effects in humans was found. In France, it is a narcotic under the generic clause for 3-carboxamide indole derivatives, not by its name.

History

Source
A synthetic molecule that its first identifiers describe as a new compound. It was found in 2014 in products sold in Japan, where it was detected at the same time as FDU-PB-22, an ester carrying the same fluorobenzylindole fragment.

Origin (pharmaceutical research → illicit market)

No biosynthetic pathway: the molecule is obtained by chemical synthesis and belongs to the class of N-naphthyl indole-3-carboxamides.
