Pharmacology
FUB-JWH-018, or (1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-1H-indol-3-yl)(naphthalen-1-yl)methanone, is a synthetic cannabinoid of the naphthoylindole family, whose skeleton resembles that of JWH-018. It differs from it by a 4-fluorobenzyl group in place of the pentyl chain on the indole nitrogen. Schoeder et al. (2018) report Ki values of 3.27 ± 1.76 nM at CB1 and 1.34 ± 0.48 nM at CB2, and no EC50 or IC50 is reached up to 10 µM at GPR55 and GPR18. The compound was reported in samples from drivers tested in Belgium between January and August 2015 (Wille et al., 2018). It is classified as a narcotic in France, and the sources consulted publish no pharmacokinetic, metabolic or clinical data for it.

Legal framework
- European Union
No harmonised control measure at European Union level is cited for this compound in the sources consulted, so control rests with national legislation. It is also absent from the INCB Green List 2026, which reproduces the schedules of the 1961 and 1971 conventions.
- France
A substance classified as a narcotic in France and named explicitly. It appears in the consolidated list of substances classified as narcotics, updated on 16 February 2026, in annex IV (substances classified in France or the European Union but not classified under the international conventions), within the indol-3-yl methanone family: « FUB-JWH-018 ou (1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-1H-indol-3-yl) (naphtalen-1-yl) méthanone ». Its structure also meets the generic definition of that family: a halobenzyl substituent on the indole nitrogen and a naphthyl group on the methanone carbon. Its classification places it under the narcotics regime.
